End of Year Events...
The pictures below are from a few different events. The first is my birthday party. It was doubly special because my brother Joel was visiting for this time. So some Czech friends and Ben had a little get together with plenty of food. It was fun. One other event is a concert I attended with Jiri, Pavla, and Ondra. And the last event is a hiking trip with my church here to the Austrian Alps. It was crazy. We left at 3 in the morning, caravaned to the Alps, hiked an extremely grueling hike. Well, it felt less like a hike and more like a desperate fight for survival. Between my sunburn, blisters, and sore legs, I haven't been in that much physical pain in a very long time, certainly not this year!

Ondra, Me, Ben, Jiri, Joel...

Pillow tossing.

Oh, it was Jiri's birthday also!

Blowing out our birthday candles.

Happy birthday to me! and my brother!

With Jiri and Ondra after a concert.

Hiding behind programs.

Waiting for a concert to begin with Pavla, Ondra, and some bald man.

Towards the beginning of our "hike" (there's still vegetation!). I had no idea what we were getting ourselves into!

Winding our way through the rocks.

Starting up after lunch (we ate in front of the house below).

Petra on her way up.

Climbing a ladder (I'm in blue just below the ladder).

Climbing the mountain hand over foot. The Alps are steep.

Some of our group walking along the snow. It was a beautiful day.

Approaching the summit.

Misa enjoying a well deserved rest at the summit.

Me and the mountains.

Sliding into the bowl.

We walked past the rocks and slid down as far as the snow reached on our butts. But once you got to the bottom, watch out for the rocks!!

This is a much faster way down! At this point I am going at a considerable speed down the mountain.

On the way down.

Another view. This one a little farther down on the mountain.

A beautiful river...

Canoes in Cesky Krumlov

Joel (front) and I (back) approaching some rough water in our canoe. Good thing we are master canoeists.
