Last Bell
So today was the seniors (classes 4.C and 6.A) last day at school, this day the call their 'last bell'. It consists of no actual classes for the seniors. Their day begins in the morning with dressing up in some crazy costume. It is typical for guys to engage in cross-dressing. There were many pretty girls with hairy legs running around. From about 7am till 8am they roam the streets around the Gymnazium and around the center of town in small groups with bottles of water and lipstick. These groups go up to any passer-by and ask for money. Ideally, if this person has money (s)he will pass through with no harm done, but if this person will not give them money then they will get water poured all over them and the class (4.C or 6.A) written across their face. In practice, however, if they know you you will get water or written on even if you do give money. Notice the first picture below of this, I was approached by a group of 6.A to whom I gave 5 kc, but I was still written on. Once the students congregated back at school for 1st lesson, approximately 8am, all the students gathered outside in the courtyard for the initiation of next year's seniors. The two senior classes formed two gauntlets through which members of the 3.C and 5.A class walked/ran. The senior classes threw water on them until they got to a table at the end of the line. They were then made to kneel on seeds and eat biscuits with a cucumber and something very spicy and then drink tea with pepper in it. They then stood up and went back through while getting sprayed with water. When all the juniors had been initiated, the seniors filled back up their water spraying devices and went wild on all the younger students. So by the end of 1st lesson, most all students were wet and painted. And then we had to herd the students back to class so that they could get some new information. The seniors still have to take their leaving exams, they have no school next week so that they can study and then the next week they will take their exams. So class is done for them, but school is not.
