On top of the Czech Republic

So Ben, Zach, Mike and I made a pilgrimage of sorts to the legendary mountain of Rip in northern Bohemia. This is a surprisingly large mountain (although not terribly big) rising straight out of the farmland around it. As the story goes, Father Czech climbed this mountain and proclaimed this would be a land for the Czechs and that they would make excellent beer. It took us about 45 minutes or so to climb over rocks and through the trees and underbrush to reach the summit where a church was located and where we got a great view of the surrounding area. After struggling to the top we enountered many families with little children and strollers and such. I was amazed that these people had brought their young children over the terrain until I saw a gradual and well kept trail on the opposite side of the mountain. But overall, quite a good time. So these pictures below are from the top of Rip. Enjoy.
