An Update
Hi!
It's been a little while since I've stopped to let you all know what I have been up to. Well, for starters, we have just entered into another week of school here at the Gymnazium pod Svatou Horou. But I was out of commission all of this weekend due to an illness that left me with a sore throat. I have recovered, but not yet to 100%, and am keeping cough drops readily on hand.
Last week was shortened due to a national holiday last Wednesday. It was Vaclav's nameday. Either way we got the day off. So we went to a get-together of ESI teachers on Tuesday evening up in Prague, and stayed the night up there.
And to continue going back in time, the weekend before this last a group of us teachers made a hectic trip over to Munich to see what the Oktoberfest hype was all about. Ben and I left from Pribram Fri. afternoon on a train to Cheb (westernmost CZ) where we met the others, missed the train to Germany, caught a train back to Plzen (through which we had come earlier that day) to get a bus for Munich that left a bit after midnight. Got to Munich around 5am, slept a couple hours in a train station, went to Oktoberfest around 9am, walked around the city, left Munich around 4:30pm on a train straight to Prague that actually turned out to be three different trains and a bus, finally arriving in Prague around 11pm Saturday evening. Phew. Ben and I continued the fun the next day by missing the bus from Prague to Pribram, delaying our actual homecoming further. All in all, though, a successful trip. And got some good pics out of it, don't you think? (Actually the pictures were taken by Ben and Joel whom I stole these from)
