Ben and I at the fireworks. Pribram shoots fireworks to celebrate the beginning of Advent, and has for the past three years. They are trying to make it an annual tradition. Many people came to the center square in town to watch firworks being shot from the top of a hotel into the sky directly above them. It was a fairly good show. And it was especially meaningful to us Americans in the town because that also happened to be our Thanksgiving day.
It is hard to see, but these are lighted devil horns on a small child probably around the age of seven. At the fireworks celebrating the first day of Advent, many children were wearing these devil horns. Supposedly it is a tradition, although I am still in the dark about some of it. I will let you know as I learn more.
Downtown Pribram, Prague Street, at night. The street is crowded because this picture was taken after the fireworks. Usually it is very quiet at night.
A castle in or just outside of the town of Cesky Budejovice (pronounced chesky budeyovitse). I can't remember the name of the castle, but it is one of the largest (and most gorgeous probably) in the Czech Republic.
The symbol of the castle. The king had defeated a Turkish king and chopped off his head. A raven descended and began to peck at the head. The king was so inspired he decided to put that image on all of his doorknobs.

Gymnazium
Here are a few pictures from my daily life here in Pribram. I took a camera on the walk from the apartment to school taking pictures along the way, so follow me as I walk to school. It is a fairly short walk, I can reach school the school in under 5 minutes if I take a leisurely pace. Enjoy!
Closer pic of the building where I teach. It is attached to an elementary school, which is the other part seen in the last picture.
A view of my school, one which I rarely see. I live on the opposite side of the building. The white building straight ahead is where I teach.
I come to an intersection, and turn left. I walk through the alley straight ahead seen in this picture.
After entering through the door, this is my view. The biology classroom where I teach biology is at the end of this hallway on the right. On the left is the staircase that I climb every morning.
The stairs as seen from the bottom floor, I climb to the middle then the top floor where my office is.
Top floor of the Gymnazium. At the top of the stairs I turn left, and this is my view. The second door on the left is the English Kabinet, and the door on the right is the 4.C classroom where I teach most of my classes.
